“The plan was to lay low for a while to quietly work on a new album. Things took a different turn. I had already been writing and arranging new ideas for almost a year, and I really wanted to record this new material and start playing as quickly as possible. I kept having this restless feeling that these songs had to break out now, not tomorrow. This album couldn’t wait. So by the time I was playing my final shows last fall the recordings were almost finished,” says Blaudzun.
The album, untitled as of yet, will be released on March 7th 2014. On that same day the official release show will take place at Tivoli, Utrecht (The Netherlands).
Judging by the album trailer Blaudzun’s fourth LP promises to be an impressing and dynamic collection of songs. He started recording last summer without the music media, fans or even friends knowing. According to Blaudzun he has never before worked more intensively on an album.
Aside from the album release show in Utrecht, Blaudzun’s tour will also take him to places such as Groningen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin and Zurich. The series of concerts will kick off with 4 special Prologue Shows. People with tickets to those shows will get exclusive online access to the new songs one week before the show. The album will also be available for sale in the venues right after the Prologue Shows.
